Ella Lindseth

Ella Lindseth, of Dawson, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 93. Memorial service was on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM. Pastor Herbert Rotunda officiating. Interment was in the Dawson Cemetery. Visitation was at the church for one hour before the services on Saturday. Ella Lois (Dahl) Lindseth was born October 31, 1917 in Watson, MN the daughter of Arnold (A.G.) and Bertha (Knutson) Dahl. She moved with her family to Dawson, MN in July of 1925 where she entered the third grade. Ella graduated from Dawson High School in 1935. She was employed at the Central Telephone Co. in Dawson and Farmington, MN. Ella was united in marriage with Clifford Lindseth January 1, 1942 at Dawson. Clifford was inducted into the Air Force and she was employed at the Telephone Co. in Camp Pickett, VA, the switchboard at the Dayton Co. and as a receptionist at S & M Tire Co. in Minneapolis. Clifford returned from the service in 1946. They returned to Dawson, where she resided until her death. After their two sons, Gerald and Alan were grown, Ella worked at Davidson's Red Owl and Stringer Drug. In 1972, she was elected City Clerk serving for 10 � years. After her retirement, she did volunteer work for Johnson Memorial Home and as a member of the Area Agency on Aging in Appleton. Ella loved to cook and her specialty was chocolate chip cookies. She also enjoyed doing cryptoquips and playing cards. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons: Gerald (Sylvia) Lindseth of Anoka and Alan Lindseth of Dawson; three grandchildren: Rhonda (Rick) Ctvrtnik of Ramsey, Drew (Karen) Lindseth of Champlin and Josh (Jenna) Lindseth of New Richmond, WI; five great-grandchildren: Marissa Ctvrtnik, Jodi and Thomas Mahowald and Avery and Isaac Lindseth; one sister, Dorothy Bakken of Bemidji; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Clifford in 2000, four brothers and eight sisters.
