Ellsworth Charles Johnson

Ellsworth Johnson died Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, SD at the age of 85.

Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake with Pastor Keith Smith officiating.

Ellsworth Charles Johnson was born May 19, 1921 at Worthington, MN the son of Charles and Tora (Jeppesen) Johnson.  He moved with his family at a young age to rural Fulda, MN and graduated from Fulda High School in 1940.  He moved with his parents to a farm south of Dawson, MN in the early 1940's and farmed with his father.  Ellsworth served in the US Army during WWII.  He was united in marriage with Carol Miller at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.  They made their home in Madison, MN, Haydenville, MN, Montevideo, MN, Rosholt, SD, and Revillo, SD as he was promoted in the grain elevator business.  He managed the grain elevator in Revillo from 1963-87.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and politics.  He moved to join his wife at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in August of 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters: Debra (husband Steven) Schlenner of Florence, SD and Yvette Johnson of Revillo, SD; two grandchildren: Lindsey (husband Josh) Volkart and Ashley (husband Bob) Schafer; and one great-grandson, Carter Lee Ellsworth Volkart.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Elaine Thompson.
