Elmer Dolan

December 12, 1910 — March 31, 1995

Elmer W. Dolan, 84, of Montevideo and formerly of Marshall, died March 31, 1995 at the Chippewa - County Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, 1995 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Douglas Olson will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Monday.

Elmer William Dolan was born December 12, 1910 at Lyons, NE the son of Thomas and Nora (Kiefer) Dolan.  He moved with his family in 1920 to the Maynard, MN area and he attended rural school and grew to adulthood there.  Elmer was united in marriage with Vivian Hanson November 14, 1931.  They made their home in Marshall, MN before moving to Brookings, SD and later back to Marshall.  He worked as a manager for the Swift Hatchery.  Vivian died February 1, 1988.  Elmer then moved to Montevideo where he lived at Brookside Manor.

He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Westly of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters: LaVerne Lawson and her husband Kermit of Seattle, WA and Marcella Anderson and her husband Wally of Granite Falls, MN; eight grandchildren: Steve Dolan, Shannon Jacob, David Dolan, Shelley Dolan, Scott Westly, Lori Dunbar, Michael Westly, and Kari Westly; and five great-grandchildren: Michelle Westly, Melissa Westly, Christopher Westly, Brian Westly, and Bradley Westly.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Vivian; one son, Roland; and one brother, Donald.
