Eloise June Kvam, of Montevideo, died on Monday January 26, 2015 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 87.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Bergen Lutheran Church, rural Granite Falls. Rev. Steve Quist will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4 to 6 PM with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service on Saturday at the church.
Eloise June Kvam was born on June 5, 1927 to Anton and Elise (Haugen) Ness in Mandan, ND. The family moved to the Clarkfield area where June attended school. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1945. Following high school June worked for City Service Oil Company in Kansas City, KS and St. Paul, MN. She had met Spencer Kvam at Luther League through church. On July 1, 1951, they were united in marriage at the parsonage home of Rev. I.O. Melom in Montevideo. Besides being a farm wife and raising three children, June worked for Union State Bank and later Minnwest Bank as a bank teller. She enjoyed working in the drive through bank and provided treats for her customers. June also enjoyed working on the PrimeTimers program at the bank. June was a long time member of Bergen Lutheran Church and was active in the Vacation Bible School program, as a Sunday School teacher and involved in the WELCA group. She was also very active in the community with the Flying Geese Quilting Club, Business and Professional Women, and Sons of Norway. June loved to do any handicrafts she could including knitting, crocheting, quilting and hardanger. She loved staying up late and working on puzzles. Family and friends would always remember June for the popcorn she served at any time of day. Family was very important to June and she cherished the times she had with her children and grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.
June is survived by her three children: Spencer (Peggy) Kvam of Granite Falls, Karen (Kevin) Tadd of Montevideo, and David (Kimberly) Kvam of Granite Falls; nine grandchildren; Eloise Kvam, Kathryn Kvam, Kyle Tadd, Nicholas (Dani) Kvam, Julia Kvam, Kari (Blake Dineen) Tadd, Molly (Matt Nelson) Kvam, Steven Kvam and Isak Kvam; one great-grandchild, Gavin; a niece, Winnie (Curtis) Severson of Clarkfield and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Spencer in 2010; a sister, Evelyn Bauman; three brothers: Carroll P. Ness, Paul H. Ness, and Merle Ness; and in infancy two brothers, Emil and Peter and one sister, Emila.
Eloise June Kvam died on Monday January 26, 2015 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 87. Blessed be her memory.
