Elton Lee, of  Montevideo, died on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Chippewa County- Montevideo Hospital at the age of 80.

Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson, MN with  Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 - 6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Elton Alfred Lee  was born on June 14, 1924 in Dawson, MN to Alfred and Hilda (Haakenson) Lee.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson and attended rural schools.  He entered the US Army on October 11, 1944, serving in Germany.  He was wounded on April 19, 1945 and was discharged on August 10, 1946.  While in the Army he received a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and Central Europe Battle Star.  On November 16, 1947 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Mae Severson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Together they farmed in the Dawson area and later moved to the Watson area.  They lived in Watson for 15 years before moving to Montevideo three months ago.  He loved baseball, fishing, bowling and dancing.  He was an active  member of Co. A of the 36th Division of the 3rd Armored Spearhead Division -  National and Minnesota chapters, Watson Lutheran Church, Watson Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, and  Dawson VFW Drill Team.  He drove the Chippewa County Veterans van for 10 years. He treasured his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather..

He is survived by wife Marjorie, four sons: Kenneth Lee and his wife Cindy of Montevideo, MN; Jerry Lee and his wife Ruth Ann of Watson, MN; Chuck Lee and his wife Alicia of Montevideo MN; and Rick Lee and his wife Sue of Milbank, SD: one daughter: Sue Christopher and her husband Dave of Alexandria, MN.  Nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.; three brothers: Thornie Lee and his wife Sylvia of Dawson, MN; Arbie Lee and his wife Bonnie of Madison, MN; and Floyd Lee and his wife Dora of Dawson, MN; four sisters: Leone Kostad and her husband Stan of Dawson, MN; Heloise Ronning of Farmington, MN; Florence Bauler of Rosemount, MN; and Alice Lanoue of Brooklyn Park, MN; as well by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in law, and one nephew.
