Elvera Rose (Wentler) Gilsrud

Elvera Gilsrud, of the Big Bend, MN area, died on Saturday, November 6, 1999 at the Chippewa Co. - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 57.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 9th at 1 PM at Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Corey Fuhrman officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Big Bend Lutheran Church.  Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Elvera Rose (Wentler) Gilsrud was born on December 11, 1941 in Swift Co., MN to Arthur and Mildred (Reuss) Wentler.  She grew up in the Holloway, MN area and graduated from Holloway High School in 1959.  She was united in marriage to Walter “Gene” Anderson on April 28, 1961 in Holloway, MN.  He died in 1975.  She was united in marriage to Palmer Gilsrud on January 8, 1982 in Danvers, MN.  She was a secretary in the Swift Co. Assessor’s office before retiring due to health concerns.  She was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church, had been a member of the American Cancer Society and enjoyed bowling and spending time at the lake.

She is survived by her husband - Palmer; by sons - Rick Anderson and his wife Robin of Eden Valley, MN and Tim Anderson of Litchfield, MN; by a daughter - Renae Eide and her husband Oren of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren - Kayla, Allison and Tracy Anderson; Ryan, Brandon and Heather Anderson; and Kevin, Nicole and Amanda Eide; brothers - Arvid Wentler and his wife Sherry of Hancock, MN and Lanny Wentler and his wife Dianne of Blaine, MN; sisters - Vivilor Munsterman and her husband Ronald of Holloway, MN; Betty Busse and her husband Harley of Appleton, MN; Charlene Lundeen of Brooklyn Park, MN; Iris Wentler of Minneapolis, MN and Myra Behm and her husband Myron of Atwater, MN; by brother-in-laws - Kenneth Bjorgan of Spring Lake Park, MN and Gary Homrighausen of Ortonville, MN as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband - Walter Anderson in 1975; a brother - Jerome Wentler and by sisters - Myrtle Bjorgan and Florine Homrighausen.
