Elwood Anderson, of rural Montevideo, died on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Scotsdale, AZ at the age of 81. A service of remembrance for Elwood will be conducted on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. followed by a time of visiting and sharing memories with the family from 1-4 P.M. at the Montevideo Community Center in Montevideo. Elwood Clair Anderson was born on May 7, 1928 in Montevideo, MN to Jay and Minnie (Engleson) Anderson. He grew up in the Montevideo area and attended Montevideo Public Schools. He served in the US Army, serving both stateside and in Korea. On November 10, 1956 he was united in marriage to Donna Struxness at Big Bend Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the VFW and Farmers Union. He liked music, dancing, visiting, farming, antiques, flea markets, collecting and especially loved to be with his family. He is survived by his wife Donna; three children: Lee (and Tracie) Anderson of Prairie du Sac, WI; Lonnie (and Renee') Anderson of Jerome, AZ; and Lori Anderson of Minnetonka, MN; four grandchildren: Tom, Jordan, Calvin and Trent; two sisters: Delores Chapin of Sarasota, FL and Tudy Mattson of Naples, FL as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lorraine Rohrer. He will be missed by all that knew him.
