E. Marie (Dahlquist) Evans

May 5, 1942 — July 31, 2017

E. Marie Evans died on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living  in Blaine, MN at the age of 75.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Jeff Fitzkappes officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Esther Marie Evans (Dahlquist) was born on May 5, 1942 in New Rockford, ND to Arthur and Mabel (Lindberg) Dahlquist.  She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.   Marie graduated from Moorhead High School in 1960, and received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from MSU-Moorhead in 1989.  She married Lowell Bernd on May 27, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.  They later divorced.  Marie then married Donald Evans on June 17th, 1972 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN, and they later divorced.  She worked as a social worker for 18 years at Luther Haven in Montevideo. She also worked in day care, foster care, and home care.  Marie was a member of  First Lutheran in New Rockford, Trinity Lutheran in Moorhead, Immanuel Lutheran in St Paul, Christ the King Lutheran in Moorhead, and Peace Lutheran in Cold Spring, MN.  She enjoyed square-dancing, traveling, quilting with the church ladies, and doing crafts that helped people in need.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Her pets were important to her as were all her pets waiting for her beyond the rainbow bridge.

She is survived by her children: Kellet (Paul) Ose of Ramsey, MN , Christopher (Nicole) Bernd of Crookston, MN, Sarah (James) Kuehl of Otsego, MN , Erik (Renee) Evans of Fargo, ND, and Eugene Evans of Fargo, ND;  9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mabel Dahlquist; her stepmother, Louise Dahlquist; and her brothers: Arthur Dahlquist, Richard Dahlquist and Donald Dahlquist.
