Emil Raffelson

November 20, 1903 — June 26, 1994

Emil Raffelson, of Montevideo, died on Sunday June 26 at the Chippewa C0 - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday June 29 at 10:30 A.M. at the Jevnaker Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Emil Palmer Raffelson was born on November 20, 1903 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Anton and Julia Raffelson.  He was baptized, confirmed and was a life-long member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  He attended rural schools.  On December 30, 1948 he was united in marriage to Florence Gilsrud at the Big Bend Parsonage.  He farmed for many years until retiring in 1968.  He moved into an apartment in Montevideo in 1985, and was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.

He is survived by  sisters - LuElla (Mrs.Palmer) Nokleby of Montevideo and Ingborg (Mrs. Alvin) Olson of Benson,Mn.; by brothers - Orris (Frances) of Tuscon, Az.; and Elmer (Marian) of Watson,Mn.; a brother-in-law - Clifford (Esther) Gilsrud of Montevideo; sisters-in-law - Lovina(Mrs. Melvin) Kanten and Pearl (Mrs. Paul) Weckwerth - both of Montevideo; as well as by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife - Florence in 1987; by brothers - Ole, John, Arther, Ingvald; and Alfred Raffelson; and by sisters - Esther Paulson and Ingebor Raffelson.
