Enno Christians

Enno Christians, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday August 27, 1996 at the Clara City Nursing Home at the age of  84.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday August 31, 1996 at 11:00 A.M. at Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo with Rev. Howard Davis officiating.  Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Enno Christians was born on July 6, 1912 in Rheiderland Township of Chippewa Co, MN to John and Ida (Gerdes) Christians.  He  was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City, MN and attended Clara City Schools.  He was united in marriage to Rosella Benson on December 2, 1944 and was later married to Mildred Baxter Nyheim on October 1, 1976 in Sisseton, SD.  He worked for 37 years at Unger Furniture in Montevideo and at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital  with the green thumb program.  He was a member of Hope Reformed Church and enjoyed flowers, fishing, and playing cards.  He was currently a resident of the Clara City Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife - Mildred; by a son - Leslie Christians of Redwood Falls, MN; by daughters - Delores Sandberg and her husband James of Maynard, MN; Beverly Hoppe and her husband Myron of Raymond, MN; and Darlene Grant and her husband Tom of Lynd, MN; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren;  by step-children - Ordell Nyheim of Canton, OH; Darlene Black of Montevideo, MN and Paul Nyheim of Wegdahl, MN; by a brother - George Christians of Ontario, CA and by a sister - Jessie  Aeikens of Montevideo, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister - Helen Smith.
