Esther Bourne, formerly of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton, Mn at the age of 90. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening, with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M., all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Esther Maria (Buchholz) Bourne was born on November 26, 1919 near Raymond, MN to William and Bertha (Schmidt) Buchholz. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond and attended rural schools. On September 14, 1952 she was united in marriage to Oscar Bourne at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They lived and farmed in Rosewood Township before moving to Montevideo in 1990. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson and was active in Ladies Aid. She loved to play cards - especially Skip-bo, listen to music - especially Danny O'Donnel and watching the Wild and Twins on television. The three most important things in her life were family, friends and faith. She is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Boehlke and her husband Allen of Mankato, MN and Colleen Hirman and her husband James of Elk River, MN; three grandchildren: Liesl Faircloth, Carissa (Jay) McDonald and John Hirman; five great grandchildren: Gatlin, Miranda and James Faircloth, Marshall Hirman and Madison McDonald, as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Oscar in 1999; brothers: Orton and Art Buchholz and six sisters: Adella Noor, Gertrude Brenner, Regina Dahlke, Leona Rothers, Lornetta Quenemoen, and Edna Knochamus
