Esther Helen Iverson, formerly of Dawson, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Madison Lutheran Home in Madison at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Madison Lutheran Home in Madison, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Dawson, MN.
Esther Helen Iverson was born in Dawson on August 31, 1933 to Arthur and Alma (Winge) Iverson. She was baptized and confirmed at Riverside Lutheran Church. She grew up in Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School. Following graduation, she attended business college in Minneapolis. She worked for Northwestern Drug in Minneapolis for 42 years in the inventory department. Following retirement she moved back to Dawson. When her health was declining she moved to Circle B in Madison and then eventually Madison Lutheran Home in 2008.
Esther enjoyed going to concerts at Orchestra Hall, especially loving the music of Haydn. She also enjoyed reading and being as active as she could. Friends remember her always dressing up her outfits with special jewelry and wanting to look her best.
Esther is survived by first cousins: David Winge, Rueben Winge, Leland Winge and Shirley Thompson and families and her close friends: Elsie Holtan and Anna Mae Dessonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alma Iverson.
