Esther Jorgenson, 77, of Montevideo and formerly of Big Bend, died June 12, 1993 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 1:30 P.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church at Big Bend, MN. Rev. Kathryn Hoff Rothmann will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
Esther Idella Blom was born March 20, 1916 in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Alfred and Mathilda (Skogrand) Blom. She attended rural schools, graduated from Milan High School, and attended Teachers Training in Montevideo. Esther taught school for six years. She was united in marriage with Ray Jorgenson September 8, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Watson. They farmed near Milan and Montevideo before moving into Montevideo. She was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Circle, Ladies Aid and a Sunday School Teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; one daughter Linda Boraas and her husband Leslie of Dawson, MN; three sons: Richard and his wife Joey of Spokane, WA, Robert and his wife Tish of Elk Grove, CA, and Joel and his wife Carolyn of Willmar, MN; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; three sisters: Irene Gould of Mesa, AZ, Pearl Tostenson of Montevideo, MN and Mavis Jorgenson of Montevideo, MN; and three brothers: Clifton Blom, Reuben Blom, and Harris Blom all of Montevideo, MN.
Preceding him in death were her parents and one brother Arthur.
