Esther Ruth Siefert passed into glory Monday, February 17, 2014, at the age of 91.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with Pastor John Runyan officiating. Burial is in the Dawson Cemetery.
She was born on May 8, 1922, in Huntington Tennessee, the daughter of Talmage and Mamie (Holland) Kennon. Her family moved to Yorba Linda, California, when she was a teenager. She attended Azuza Bible College.
She married Fredrick John Siefert on October 4, 1946. To this union were born two daughters and two sons. They lived in southern and northern California until 1962, when they moved to Strandburg, SD. In 1968, they moved to Dawson, MN.
Esther put her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age. She enjoyed playing piano for church and for family at home.
She drove bus for Standburg, SD and Dawson, MN school districts. She also worked at the Johnson Memorial Care Center.
Esther attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Montevideo, MN, where she enjoyed the teaching, worship and fellowship.
She is survived by her children: Linda (Clayton) Mosteller of Watertown, SD, Judy McGilvra of Mason City, IA, Phillip (Pamela) Siefert of Mason City, IA, and Roger Siefert of Milbank, SD; 3 granddaughters: Leslie Siefert of Sarasota; FL, Sandra (Dustin) Heinold of Norwalk, IA; Sarah (Tom) Woodward of Racine, WI; one grandson, Trevor Siefert of Rochester, MN; 3 great-granddaughters: Jordan, Trystin and Aliyah Heinold of Norwalk, IA, and 3 great-grandsons: Titus and Silas Heinold of Norwalk, IA; and Caleb Woodward of Racine, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and husband, Fredrick Siefert in 2008.
