Esther (Pehrson) Stokke

Esther Stokke, formerly of Watson, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at the Madison Lutheran Home at the age of 95.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 13, 2000 at 1:00 PM at the Watson Lutheran Church in Watson with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Esther Stokke was born near Watson, MN on October 23, 1904 to Andrew and Selma (Pehrson) Stokke.  She was baptized and confirmed at Watson Lutheran Church.  She attended Watson Schools, graduated from Montevideo High School in 1922 and attended Mankato Business College.  She worked in insurance offices in Fargo, ND and Seattle, WA and worked at the Public Library in Denver, CO before retiring in 1969 and moving to Ortonville, MN.  She lived in Ortonville until entering the Madison Lutheran Home about 4 years ago.  She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers - Alfred, Arthur and Edwin Stokke and by 6 sisters - Anna Gustafson, Julia Holmquist, Martha Bunn, Stella Hamre, Amelia Sanford and Elise Stokke.
