Eugene Larson, of Watson, died on Friday, August 21, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 25, 1998 at 10:30 AM at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson, MN with Rev. Harold Knutson officiating.  Burial will be in the Hazel Run Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening, with the family from 7 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Eugene A Larson was born on November 6, 1905 to Jacob and Annie (Hendrickson) Larson in Milaca, MN.  He was baptized and confirmed and attended rural schools in the Milaca area.. At age 17 he spent time doing fieldwork in South Dakota and the Clarkfield area before moving to Minneapolis and working as a building contractor for 2 years. In October, 1930 he was united in marriage to Lela Anderson. He farmed in the Hazel Run area for 4 years and for awhile east of Hanley Falls before moving to the Milan/Watson area, where he farmed until retiring in 1969.  Following the death of his wife Lela in 1960, he was united in marriage to Rose Myrom on March 9, 1974.He lived on the farm until moving to Prairie park Place in Clara City about 4 years ago.  He moved to Brookside manor in Montevideo about 2 months ago, has spent the past 7 weeks at Abbot/Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis and had just entered Luther Haven Nursing Home. He has been on dialysis for the past 4 years and had recently been battling severe illness. He was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church, Watson Lions Club, Elevator Board, Church Boards and was involved with community fund raising.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading, watching sporting events, hunting, and woodworking, especially making trunks.

He is survived by a son - Richard of Watson; a daughter - Ardelle Rosen and her husband Gale of Raymond, MN; grandchildren - Lexi Wubben and her husband Scott of Prinsburg, MN; Kraig Rosen of Raymond, MN; Rebecca DeJong and her husband Kraig of Raymond, MN; Heidi Gerdes and her husband Mitch of Watson, MN; and Andrew Rosen and Amy Rosen of Raymond, MN; great grandchildren - Ryan and Karisa Wubben and Karina and Kiesha DeJong; brothers - Emil Larson and his wife Joyce of Milaca, MN; Harvey Larson and his wife Lilian of Clarkfield, MN; a sister - Alvina Stromberg of Minneapolis; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lela in 1960 and his wife Rose in 1979, as well as by four brothers and seven sisters.
