Eugene L. Sulflow

Gene Sulflow died Friday, September 26, 2014, at his home in Montevideo at the age of 67.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo.  Rev. Ronald Hobbie will officiate and interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before the services.

Eugene Leonard Sulflow was born September 19, 1947 at Montevideo, MN the son of Leonard and Rena (Lange) Sulflow.  He was baptized October 26, 1947 and confirmed April 23, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock.  He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1965 and then served in the Army National Guard from the fall of 1965 until 1971.  He was united in marriage with Sandra Flickinger Septembe 27, 1969 in Montevideo.  They made their home on a farm northeast of Montevideo before moving into town in 1974.  He worked at Chandler Industries in the late 1970's and 80's.  Gene started working at Prairies Edge Casino in 1996.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and fixing stuff.  He was always tinkering on one thing or another.  He especially enjoyed time with his family and his grandchildren.

Gene is survived by his wife, Sandra; four children: Toni (Jim) Hoffman of Dawson, MN, Stephanie (Judd) Deslandes of Brooklyn, NY, Adam (Jill) Sulflow of Montevideo, MN, and Noel (Dawn) Sulflow of Boyd, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Amber (Shawn) VanVickle, Zachary and Lauren Munsterman, Chase, Yale, Tayte and Aisha Hofmann, Tucker, Logan, and Corbin Sulflow, and Wyatt, Connor and Kylie Dann; two great-grandchildren: Payton and Shawn, Jr. VanVickle; his mother, Rena Sulflow of Montevideo, MN; two sisters: Carol NorHenberg of Clear Lake, SD and Joyce (Vernon)  Olson of Watson, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Leonard and an infant brother.
