Eunice Hantho

Eunice Hantho was born June 30, 1925 the daughter of Albert and Louise Hantho.  She graduated from Appleton High School in 1943.  Eunice continued her education with a Nursing Diploma from Fairview, a Bachelor’s degree from Avila College in Kansas City, and a Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1960.  Eunice’s life work was nursing.  She excelled as both a nursing educator in Kansas City, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis and as a working registered nurse.  In her early career, she focused on psychiatric nursing.  As her career progressed, Eunice developed a particular interest in nursing care for the aged.  Outside of her work, Eunice spent much fun time with friends and family, while volunteering her talents at Central Lutheran Church and through the Twin Cities Lutheran Singles organization.  Her 78 years were filled with accomplishment, travel, joy, and good conversation, always accompanied by her good humor.

She is survived by two sisters: Alda Ernst of Montevideo, MN and Lyla (Warren) Streed of Milan, MN; one sister-in-law, Bernice Hantho of Madison, MN; two nieces: Wanda (Gary) Boyer of Fridley, MN and Ann (Tim) Borstad of Dawson, MN; three nephews: Leigh (Jennifer) Hantho of Edina, MN, Ron (Nancy) Streed of Milan, MN, and Mark (Janelle) Streed of Milan, MN; four great-nephews: Andrew (Ann) Streed of Graham, WA, Eric (Lori) Streed of Burnsville, MN, Noah Borstad of Denver, CO, and Michael Hantho of Edina, MN; five great-nieces: Shannon (Corey) Hansen of Woodbury, MN, Kelsey Streed of St. Cloud, MN, Bretta Streed of Milan, MN, Halsten Hantho of New York, NY, and Serena Borstad of Dawson, MN; and two great-great-nieces: Hannah and Sophie Streed of Burnsville, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Murlyn Hantho; one brother-in-law, Fred Ernst; and one nephew, James Streed.

Eunice Hantho died August 30, 2003 at the age of 78.  May her memory be blessed.
