Evelyn Agnes (Scharf) Conrad

September 20, 1911 — August 24, 2002

Montevideo

Evelyn Conrad, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 90.  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Lindhorst officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Evelyn Agnes (Scharf) Conrad was born on September 20, 1911 in Montevideo, MN to Frank and Alvena (Nicolai) Scharf.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School.  She attended St. Barnabas Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, receiving her Diploma as a R.N.  On February 6, 1943 she was united in marriage to Everett Conrad in Joplin, MO.  Her nursing career included working in the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital, the Dawson Hospital, the Pima Hospital in Tucson, AZ and the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.  She loved to fish and enjoyed traveling, watching golf and camping.  She was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was active in Altar Guild. She had just recently become a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by nieces and nephews: Elaine Hudson of Coon Rapids, MN, Joan Haugland of Watson, MN, Nancy Beaman and Donald Rosen of Minneapolis, MN, Gordon Rosen of Ft. Ripley, MN, Chloe Culkin of Mt. Holly, NJ, Ronald Morton of Battle Lake, MN, Shirley Le Sueur Sonntag of Sonoma Valley, CA, Dennis Morton of Minneapolis, MN, Michael Morton of Naples, FL, Ruth Benson of Ashby, MN, Audrey Caeriere of Naples, FL, Mary Ruona of Lake Arthur, LA, Steven Morton of Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey Morton of Fergus Falls, MN and Wallace Morton of Dalton, MN; as well as by numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 1984; three brothers: Everett, George and Wallace Scharf; and two sisters: Ruth Rosen and Lois Morton.
