Evelyn Doring, of Montevideo, died on Sunday August 25, 1996 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday August 30, 1996 at 1:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Douglas Olson officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7:30 - 8:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Evelyn (Bergquist) Doring was born on October 21, 1906 in Hawk Creek Township of Renville Co., Minnesota to Emil and Christine (Throngard) Bergquist. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended rural schools and completed high school in Wood Lake in 1924. She was united in marriage to Edward Doring on November 7, 1926 at the Lutheran parsonage in Belview, MN. They lived in the Echo - Wood Lake area until 1932 when they moved to Montevideo, where she has lived since. She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and liked gardening, flowers, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, cards, and enjoyed children.
She is survived by a son - Eugene of Montevideo; by a daughter - Barbara Wick and her husband Clifford of Montevideo; by grandchildren - Nancy Wick of Montevideo; Kenneth Wick of Montevideo; Karen Johnson of Raymond, MN (and special friend - Ron Schmitz of Clarkfield, MN; and Brenda Gremmels and her husband Mike of Montevideo; 6 great grandchildren; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband - Edward in 1976; a granddaughter - Cindy Wick; brothers - George Bergquist; Carl Bergquist; and Ernest Bergquist; and by sisters - Luella Soetemann; Amanda Mulenberg; and Glenda Bergquist.
