Evelyn Eddy

Evelyn Eddy, of Montevideo, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 97.

Memorial services will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Pastor Donald S. McKee will officiate, and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Evelyn Pauline Eddy was born May 12, 1926 in Chippewa County, MN to Gust and Julia (Pederson) Macziewski.  She was baptized into the Lutheran faith.  Evelyn was united in marriage to James Eddy on October 18, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock.  She worked for the Montevideo School District as a cook.  In her retirement she sold mini donuts at different events for many years.  Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Montevideo and spent 22 years wintering in Arizona.  She had many hobbies. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and gardening.  Evelyn had a great love for the Christmas season and would decorate inside and out. She even spent many years as Mrs. Claus for the city of Montevideo. She also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Scotty McCreery, and attended several concerts.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Sharon Schroeder of Montevideo; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Eddy; son, Harlan Eddy; daughter, Michelle Johnson; grandson, Shawn Eddy; and great-grandson, Ryan Eddy.
