Evelyn Gilsrud, of Montevideo, died on Friday, January 16, 2009 at her home in Copper Glen at the age of 99. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN with Rev. Brad Larson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 6 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Evelyn Viola (Pearson) Gilsrud was born on August 24, 1909 in Montevideo, MN to Carl and Andria (Ingvalson) Pearson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in June of 1927. On Sept, 5, 1928 she was united in marriage to Clarence Gilsrud of Montevideo. They farmed for many years in Tunsberg Township until moving into Montevideo in Nov of 1985. Evelyn was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN and active in Immanuel's WELCA. She is survived by two sons: Gary (and wife Pat) of Harvard, IL and Gordon (and wife Kathy) of Lake City, MN; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Pearson of Montevideo, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clarence in March of 1993, a great grandson, Jacob Hoey; three sisters: Myrtle Peterson, Irene Haugerud and LaVon Anderson; and three brothers: Everett, Clayton and Gordon Pearson.
