Evelyn Jenson, 74, of Montevideo, died July 1, 1996 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 1996 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Timothy Lindhorst will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 3-8:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday.
Evelyn Janette Golden was born July 8, 1921 in Lac Qui Parle County, MN, near Lac Qui Parle Lake, the daughter of George and Mary (Hillerud) Golden. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church near Watson and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended school in Montevideo and graduated in 1940. After graduation, she was employed as a salesperson at various local stores including: Woolworth's, Bofferding's Floral Shop, and Marge's Flower Shop. Evelyn was united in marriage with Melvin S. Jenson May 16, 1946. They made their home in Montevideo. After his death in 1968, she was a bookkeeper for Thompson Oil Co. and MSM Heating and Air Conditioning until 1983. Evelyn was a 50 year member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Bradley of Andros Island, Bahamas and his wife Connie of Bemidji, MN; three grandchildren: Neill, Kirstin, and Erik; one sister, Marion Kindelberger and her husband Corwin of Montevideo, MN; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Melvin; two daughters: Gayle and Julie in infancy; two brothers: Ervin and Herbert "Tony" Golden; three sisters: Mildred Joyce, Margaret Holen, and Olga Christenson; and many dear friends and family members.
