Evelyn Larson , of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the Chippewa County- Montevideo Hospital at the age of 92.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and with the family from 6 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Evelyn Marie (Lokken) Larson was born on November 9, 1910 in Lac Qui Parle County, MN to Henry and Frances (Sisson) Lokken. She was baptized on December 4, 1910 and confirmed on November 2, 1924 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter. On July 1, 1934 she was united in marriage to Helmfred Larson in Montevideo. She lived all of her married life in Montevideo and was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Montevideo. She worked at Northwestern Bell, at the switchboard at the Chippewa County Courthouse for a number of years and helped out at her husband’s print shop for many years. She did volunteer work at Luther Haven and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Theissen of Madison, WI; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Helmfred in 1992; and one brother, Hartman Lokken during WW II.
