Evelyn Louise (Larson) Anderson

Montevideo

Evelyn Anderson, 85, died Monday, September 24, 2001at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  Rev. Wayne Anderson will officiate and interment will be at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.

Evelyn Louise (Larson) Anderson was born on October 19, 1915 in Big Bend Township of Chippewa County, MN to Louis and Ida (Amundsgaard) Larson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  On October 5, 1940 she was united in marriage to Oscar Anderson.   She lived in Milan until moving to Montevideo in 1966.  She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.  She worked as a cook at the Viking Café in Milan and from 1965 until her retirement in 1983 worked as a cook at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was a long time member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan and had been active in ladies aid and circle.  She was a member of the Jolly Jabbers Homemakers group in Milan and the VFW Auxiliary  and a homemakers group in Montevideo.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, watching Twins games and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandson.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Deb Bowen and her husband Jim of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren: Kristy Tesch and her husband Troy of Fort Wayne, IN, Vanessa Bowen and Nathan Bowen of Montevideo; one great-grandson, Bowen Tesch; one brother, Juleen Larson of Montevideo; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar in 1965; six brothers: Leo, Ingman, Joseph, Almer, Lyle, Lloyd and Elvin Larson; and two sisters: Alice Ost and Lillian Lea.
