Evelyn Carrie Louise (Ellefson) Peterson was born September 9, 1917 in Providence Twp., Lac Qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Ole and Esther (Erickson) Ellefson. She grew to adulthood in Providence Township and graduated from Madison High School. Evelyn was united in marriage with Sander Medhaug December 4, 1943 at the Providence Valley Lutheran Church Parsonage. They farmed in Providence Township. Sander died in November of 1974. She was later united in marriage with Lloyd B. Peterson on February 14, 1987. Lloyd died June 10, 1998.
Evelyn died September 9, 1998, at her daughter, Laurie Peterson's home in Chippewa Falls, WI, at the age of 81 years.
She is survived by two children: Allan Medhaug living in the state of Washington and Laurie Peterson and husband Paul of Chippewa Falls, WI; two step-children: Robert Peterson and wife Pam of Brooklyn Park, MN and Shirley Vadnais and husband Mike of Vadnais Heights, MN; three granddaughters: Caitlin, Claudia, and Eva Peterson; three step-grandchildren: Scott Peterson, Paula (Tim) Hanauer, and Michele (Jim) McCardle; two step-great-grandchildren: Lukas Peterson and Matthew McCardle; and one sister, Clarice Lund of Dawson, MN.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands: Sander Medhaug and Lloyd B. Peterson; and one brother, Manfred Ellefson.
