Evelyn (Moss) Stewart Brown was born in Dallas County, Texas on July 27, 1943 to LaVoy and Willa Mae (Jennings) Moss. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Canada. Through a friend, Evelyn moved to Montevideo in the early 1980's.
Evelyn graduated from high school and worked in various places until she married. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She was always willing to help out at Community Bible Church as a volunteer and she also volunteered to help others around her and in the community. Evelyn loved to cook and bake. Her immense talent in cooking was throughly delicious, appreciated and enjoyed. Evelyn’s generosity came from a big giving heart. She would entertain friends royally with a delicious meal and she loved to “dote” on her guests. Evelyn also loved her cat Tiger and the feeling was mutual. She enjoyed listening to Gaither Music, watching movies and visiting with friends over the phone.
Evelyn loved spending time in the Bible. Her favorite three verses captured her heart: Habakkuk 3:19, God is my strength; 1 John 4:18, Love casts out fear; and John 13:34-35, Love one another.
Evelyn is survived by her dearly loved brother, LaVoy Jr. (Ginny) Moss; nieces: Kelli (Moss) DeFriese and Shea (Moss) Varner; nephews: McClain Moss and Garrett Moss; a dear cousin Chris Dendy, and many friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, LaVoy Sr. and Willa Mae Moss.
