Evonne Marlene (Sandberg) Lee

Montevideo

Evonne Lee, of Montevideo, died on Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Idstrom officiating.  Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.


Evonne Marlene (Sandberg) Lee was born August 5, 1932 at Granite Falls, MN the daughter of Henry and Anna (Brennan) Sandberg.  She was baptized April 8, 1939 and confirmed May 11, 1947 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1951.  Evonne lived in Minneapolis and worked for an insurance company before she was united in marriage July 16, 1960 with Merald Lee at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.  They made their home in rural Montevideo before retiring in 1987 and moving into Montevideo.  She worked at the Mall Café and JaMoms.  Evonne was a member of Altar Guild and Circle at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and was also a member of homemakers.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also liked baking, doll collecting, fishing, gardening and going to the trailer at the lake.

She is survived by her husband, Merald; five children: Steven (Rhonda) Lee of Spicer, MN, Pamela Lee (Steve Brogaard) of Colorado Springs, CO, Patty (Lynn) Molden of Montevideo, MN, Cheryl (Kevin) Lee of Montevideo, MN, and Cathy Lee (John Olsen) of Chico, CA; eight grandchildren: Amanda Lee, Christopher Lee, Makayla Lee, Joshua Lee, Brenin Molden, Teagan Molden, Erin Anspach, and Zachary Anspach; two great-grandchildren: Drake and Foxx Johnson; and two brothers: Darwood (Betty) Sandberg of Brandon, SD and John (Nancy) Sandberg of Plymouth, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers: Boyd, Clifton, Robert, and Harry Sandberg; and one sister, Judith Johnson.
