Fannie (Dirksen) Seeman

Fannie Seeman died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 97.

Private funeral services will be held.  A video of the funeral will be available on this webpage on Tuesday.

Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 5-7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Fannie (Dirksen) Seeman was born June 20, 1923 in Loquard Ostfriesland Germany, the daughter of Weert and Berendina (Fransen) Dirksen, and was baptized in the Lutheran Church of Loquard, Germany on the day she was born.  At birth they named her Fenke Dirksen, but upon arriving in America at the age of one year old they changed her name to Fannie.

The Dirksen family made their home on a farm near Gluek, MN.  She attended country school through the eighth grade.

On November 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Seeman at the Bethany Reformed Church Parsonage in Clara City, MN.  They lived and farmed in Havelock Township for 35 years before moving to Montevideo in 1979.  She was confirmed as an adult on April 14, 1946 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and was a lifelong member and faithful member of the Ladies Aid and served as a Sunday School teacher.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed flowers, baking cookies and pumpkin pies, making quilts, embroidery work, baking birthday cakes for the grandchildren and spending time with her family especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with friends and neighbors.  She always had a very positive and caring attitude and was loved by all.

Fannie survived by her children: Caroline (Douglas) Nordaune of Montevideo, Doris (Roger) Goldenstein of Benson, Vernon (Bonita) Seeman of Montevideo; grandchildren: Amy (Shawn) Nelson, Holly Nelson Nordaune, Dawn (Ross)Kasowski, Janell (Steve) Wollschlager, Renee (Tom) Salsbury, Marcus (Brenda) Goldenstein, Jodi (Paul, Jr.) Janke, Kelly (Scott) Glaesman, Tamara (Ryan) Onnen, Anthony (Samantha) Seeman: great-grandchildren: Devan Nelson, Cassandra and Ty Nelson, Rachel and Ruby Kasowski, Jordan and Cam Wollschlager, Ethan, Ellie, Nate and Chloe Salsbury, Miles Goldenstein, Cali, Evan and Willa Janke, Olivia and Will Glaesman, Brock and Miranda Onnen, James, Brody and Charley Seeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1999; parents, Weert and Berendina Dirksen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Vernon and Selma Dirksen, Ben and Fern Dirksen, George and Grace Dirksen, Henry and Marjorie Dirksen; a brother in infancy, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gilbert and Eleanor Seeman.
