Fern Landmark, of Montevideo, died Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Community Bible Church with Rev. Bruce Jarman officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.
Fern Marlette (Hawkinson) Landmark was born November 12, 1923 in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN the daughter of Alfred and Rachel (Ness) Hawkinson. She attended rural school and graduated from Clarkfield High School. On January 18, 1946, she was united in marriage with David Landmark at the Clarkfield Gospel Tabernacle. They lived on a farm west of Montevideo and spent a number of years snowbirding in Texas. She was one of the founders of the Community Bible Church and was very involved in its activities. She was a member of the Minnesota Valley Antique Power Club (Heritage Hill). Fern enjoyed fishing, baking bread, buns, and apple pies, and crocheting. She was blessed to have many friends during her life.
She is survived by two daughters: Beverly (Jerome) Kvistad of Minneapolis, MN and Esther (James) Thorpe of Gary, SD; a son: Gary (Mary Lou) Landmark; daughter-in-law, Sue Landmark of Montevideo, MN; ten grandchildren: Teresa Kvistad, Stephanie (Troy) Reynolds, Nathan (Lisa) Thorpe, Brian (Jael) Thorpe, David (Christa) Landmark, Darla (Andrew) Christensen, Caleb Landmark, Marilee Landmark, Charles (Victoria) Landmark and Taylor Landmark; thirteen great-grandchildren: Kayla (Johnny) Fondren, Trejan (Kendra) Kvistad, Blaze Remmen, Tahlia, Aaron, and Katie Reynolds, Andrew, Levi, Leah, and Lincoln Thorpe, Asher and Liam Christenson, and Sawyer Landmark; two great-great-grandchildren: Calise and Alic; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, David died April 5, 2005; a son, Ted Landmark; two grandsons: Burley Kvistad and Terry Thorpe; three brothers: Howard, Arlo, and Russell Hawkinson; and a sister, Sylve Hawkinson.
