Florence Evelyn (Danielson) Carlson

Florence Carlson, 79, of Montevideo, died March 2, 1997 at her home in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 1997 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Florence Evelyn Danielson was born April 12, 1917 at Seneca, WI the daughter of Daniel A. and Nellie (Lundgren) Danielson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Utica Lutheran Church in Mt. Sterling, WI.  The family moved to Correll, MN in 1932 and Florence graduated from Correll High School in 1935.  She was united in marriage with Harvey A. Carlson, June 17, 1937 at the Reque Lutheran Parsonage in Stevens County, MN.  They owned and operated Carlson's Mink Farms from 1946 to 1968.  She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN for many years teaching Sunday School and was the president of the Ladies Aid.  They moved to Montevideo in 1968 and they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1987.  Florence enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.  In their later years, Harvey and Florence enjoyed traveling.  They especially enjoyed going to Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey, living at Luther Haven in Montevideo, MN; one son, Gary Carlson and his wife Barbara of Willmar, MN; two grandsons: Jay Carlson and his wife Pamela in the U.S. Army in Germany and Jon Carlson and his wife Chong Ae of Clarksville, TN; one great-grandson, Grant Carlson; three sisters: Lorraine Zismer of Alexandria, MN, Darleen Anderson of Alexandria, MN, and Neola Bottge and her husband Merald of Spearfish, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Nellie and Daniel Danielson; her step-father, Harry Holgerson; and two brothers-in-law: Wilbert Zismer and Donald Anderson.
