Florence Mildred (Penning) Hinde

Florence Hinde, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family present from 7-8:00 P.M..

Florence Mildred (Penning) Hinde was born August 26, 1911 at Seney, IA the daughter of John and LuLu (Lancaster) Penning.  She grew up in Plymouth County, IA and attended schools in LeMars, IA. She was united in marriage with Raymond Hinde on December 10, 1930 at Sioux City, IA.  They farmed near LeMars until 1952 when they moved to Montevideo, MN.  She was a 4-H Leader and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing, farming, and music.

She is survived by one son,  Max and his wife Carol of Montevideo; two daughters: Betty Osborne and her husband Bill of Montevideo and Joanne Mortensen of Stillwater, MN; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1994; one great-grandson, Jay Mortensen; one brother, Vernon Penning; and one sister, Mabel Kennedy.
