Florence Della (Rear) Skreberg

Florence Skreberg, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, September 21, 2000 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 80.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 28, 2000 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lois Knutson and Rev. Douglas Olson officiating.  Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Florence Della (Rear) Skreberg was born on February 5, 1920 in Big Bend Twp. of Chippewa Co., MN to Helmer and Emma (Larson) Rear.  She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1938.  She was united in marriage with Carl Skreberg August 23, 1941 in Sioux City, NB.  They farmed for 35 years in the Watson, Mn area before retiring and moving into Montevideo.  She had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was currently a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.  She was active in the VFW Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary and her circle.  She enjoyed visiting at Luther Haven, writing to friends and relatives, reading and playing cards.

She is survived by three sisters: Mamie Robbins of Tomahawk, WI, Ellen Lundring of Sierra Madre, CA and Hazel Johnson of Montevideo; as well as by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in 1992; two brothers: Milford Rear and Joseph Rear; and one sister, Ethel Laumb.
