Florine “Fritz” Nordby died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour before services on Tuesday.
Florine Alice Frances (Zempel) Nordby was born February 9, 1923 at home in Lac qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Kling) Zempel. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended rural school in Lac qui Parle County Dist. #15. She worked cleaning houses and lived in Montevideo her entire life. Fritz was united in marriage with Harold “Bud” Nordby on January 13, 1961. She traveled with him while he worked road construction. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and mending. Her favorite thing was treating the nieces and nephews and entertaining the children in the neighborhood.
She is survived by a sister, H. Bernice Goulson of Montevideo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harold "Bud" Nordby in 1998; four brothers: Francis “Pants", Palmer “Click”, Kenneth “Ken”, and Robert “Swede” Zempel; and three sisters: Dorothy “Dosey” Adamson, Gloria “Bobbie” Hoff, and Grace “Sister” Anderson.
