Floyd "Jake" Nels Jacobsen

Floyd "Jake" Jacobsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI formerly of Montevideo, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at The Waterford in Wisconsin Rapids at the age of 80.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with burial in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.

Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home of Montevideo.

Floyd “Jake” Nels Jacobsen was born July 10, 1941 in Montevideo, MN to Nels and Selma (Larson) Jacobsen.  He attended and graduated from Montevideo High School.  After high school Jake obtained his bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University and his master’s degree from University of Wisconsin Stout.  He served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy and later served many years in The National Guard.  Jake was united in marriage to Sandra Evjen on August 1, 1964 in Montevideo, MN. Jake worked at West Jr. High School in Wisconsin Rapids, WI for 30 years, teaching wood shop and driver’s education.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and Heart of Wisconsin Gun Club.  Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, camping and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Jake is survived by his wife, Sandy of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughters, Kris Jacobsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Kim (Tim) Paitel of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; sister Audrey (Eilert) Pederson of Brooklyn Park MN: grandchildren, Jacob (Adrianna) Paitel, Allison Paitel (Damon Severson), and Maddie Paitel; great granddaughter Harper Severson and granddogs Rudee, Roxie, Carlos, Oscar, Selena and Raggie.

He was preceded in death by many beloved family members, cherished friends, neighbors and family dogs.
