Forest R. Johnson, 74, of Marietta, GA and formerly of Montevideo, MN, died December 20, 1996.
Graveside memorial services were held Monday, May 19, 1997 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating.
Memorial services were also held December 23, 1996 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.
Forest Rod Johnson was born July 10, 1922 in Montevideo, MN the son of Forrest L. and Muriel Johnson. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1940, was in the Marine Corps during WW II where he served in the Pacific Theater. On January 20, 1944 he was united in marriage to Elaine Norman at Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from the University of MN in 1950 and worked as an electrical engineer until retiring from IBM in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Marietta, GA; two sons: Christopher Johnson and his wife Bobbi of Scottsdale, GA and Rev. Rick Johnson and his wife Janet of Toledo, IA; one sister, Barbara Bowers of Wichita, KS; and five grandchildren: Julia and Andrew Johnson of Winder, GA and Forest R. III, Hope, and Nadia Johnson of Toledo, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
