Frank J. Motyka, Dawson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 67.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, rural Dawson with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.
Frank Joe Motyka was born December 27, 1953 in Los Angeles, CA to Frank and Ruth (Engstrand) Motyka. He was baptized and confirmed at Providence Valley Lutheran Church. He attended Dawson-Boyd High School and graduated in 1972. He attended Brainerd Community College for landscape design in 1973. On July 21, 1979, Frank married Suzanne Weske at the United Methodist Church in Clarissa, Minnesota. They were married for 21 years. They spent much of their married life on the family farm in rural Dawson. Frank worked at AGP soybean plant for 11 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and rock hunting with his uncle Don. He also had a passion for cooking.
Frank is survived by his three cousins: Mary (Gary) Bender of Denver CO, Mark Engstrand of Chicago, IL, and Eric (Kimberly) Sandrock of Woodbury, MN; his soulmate and former spouse, Suzanne Motyka of Pequot Lakes, MN, and three goddaughters, Anne Marie Bell, Renee Minette, and Suzette Skavlem.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Mary C. Engstrand, his uncles, Donald Engstrand and Raymond Engstrand and his aunt, Norma M Sandrock.
