Franklin O. Christianson, of Blomkest, died on Sunday. May 11, 1997 at the Cosmos Health Care Center in Cosmos at the age of 77.
Memorial services were conducted on Friday, May 16, 1997 at 1:00 PM at Svea Lutheran Church in Svea with Rev. William Wilson officiating.
Franklin Olaus Christianson was born on March 26, 1920, to Olaf and Sena (Tongen) Christianson in Hazel Run, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1938. He attended the University of Minnesota for a year. He served as a B24 pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On February 24, 1945, he was united in marriage to Wilma Anderson in Montevideo. They lived and engaged in farming and agri-business near Cosmos, Kerkhoven, and after 1960 near Blomkest, MN. He has been a resident of the Cosmos Health Care Center since December, 1995. He was a member of Svea Lutheran Church, the Willmar VFW Post, the Clara City American Legion Post, the DAV in Willmar and the Little Crow Lapidary Club.
He is survived by his wife - Wilma of Blomkest; children - Frank W. Christianson, his wife Julie, and children Kyran and Ben of Blomkest, MN; Jane Speech of St. Paul Park, MN; Roy O. Christianson, his wife Marlene and children - Jenny, Marcy and Reid of Blomkest, MN; Ted T. Christianson, his wife Sandra and children - Alex and Joseph of Edina, MN; and Lee O. Christianson, his wife Mary and children - Luke and Lydia of Willmar; by a brother - Grant and his wife Arly Christianson of Blomkest; and sisters - Veda Tongen and her husband Lyle of Mendota Heights, MN and Doris Conner of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister - Fern.
