Freda Waller, 94, of Montevideo, died peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2012, days after entering Luther Haven Nursing Home after a 5 year battle with Alzheimers. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Weston officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Freda (Borg) Waller was born on May 18, 1917 in Granite Falls, MN to Claus and Olivia (Nordang) Borg. She was baptized at her home in Stony Run Township, confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. On January 13, 1951 she was united in marriage to Harvey Waller in Montevideo. They lived and farmed in Stony Run Township. She was an active member of Bergen Lutheran Church and its women's groups and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, yard work, crocheting and handwork. She was currently a resident at the Luther Haven Nursing Home. She is survived by a son, Curtis Waller of Montevideo; a daughter, Avis (and Bruce) Grant of Federal Way, WA; a daughter-in-law, Tami Waller of Montevideo; four grandchildren: Jason(Lesley) Grant, Jerrod (Alesha) Grant, Amy Waller and Angie (Justin) Brovold; five great-grandchildren: Jaclyn, Tyler, Zoie, Lucas, Ayla; and numerous of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey in 1985; a son, Allen in 2004; six brothers: Alvin, Adolph, Julius, Anton, Johnnie and Clarence Borg; and a sister, Martha Borg.
