Gail Pearson, of Milan, died on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 68.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Tom Opoien officiating with interment at 1:30 PM in the Swede Home Lutheran Cemetery in rural Clarkfield, MN Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening, with the family from 6 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo as well as for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Gail Lorne Pearson was born on June 17, 1937 in Swede Prairie Township of Yellow Medicine County, MN to Harold and Alice (Johnson) Pearson. He was baptized and confirmed at Swede Home Lutheran Church, attended rural school and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was attached to NORAD. He worked in construction including working for Dunnick Brothers Construction for over forty years before retiring in 2005. He enjoyed stock car racing, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
He is survived by a son, Gary Pearson and his wife Shari of Spooner, WI; six grandchildren: Brittany, Sabrina and Alyssa Pearson, Damien Van den Broeke, Adrienne Pearson; and Kendall Weyer; two step-grandsons: Tyler and Cory Campbell; one great-grandson, Gavin Pearson; two brothers: Arden Pearson and his wife Iola of Milan, MN and Merle Pearson and his wife Dorothy of Clarkfield, MN; a sister, Joyce Vold and her husband Lew of Clarkfield, MN, a number of nieces and nephews; and a close friend and companion, Norma Johnson of Porter, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, Sandy Weyer in 1999.
