Gary "Butch" Moen of Montevideo , died on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 57. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at Hazel Run Lutheran Church with Rev. Alan Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery near Granite Falls. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Gary Lee "Butch" Moen was born on April 4, 1951 in Albert Lea, MN to Raymond and Bette (Mills) Moen. As a young boy he moved with his family to the Granite Falls, MN area where he grew up and graduated from Granite Falls High School. On September 25, 1976 he was united in marriage to DeVona Rorvig at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He worked at Flinn's Salvage and at AMPI for many years. He loved spending time with his grand kids, going to the casino, playing cards, fishing, watching television, riding bike and just joking around. He is survived by three children: Trina Moen and her fiance Jason Heggestad of Clara City, MN, Janae Marshall and her husband Nicholas of Canby, MN and Kara Bjornstad and her husband Jon of Maynard, MN; seven grandchildren: Desiree, Mason, Kailee, Destiny; Haley, Nicole and Amara; three sisters: Jean (and Daniel) Hocum of Canby, MN, Donna (and Ray) Haneca of Montevideo, and Vicky (and Roger) LaVoi of Sauk Rapids, MN; six brothers: John Moen of Montevideo, William (and Becky) Moen of Pequot Lakes, MN, Mike (and Barb) Moen of Montevideo, Thomas (and Mary) Moen of Montevideo, Robert Moen of Belview, MN and Mark Moen of Montevideo; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Jackie, Jerry and Randy Moen; and two sisters-in-law, Clare Moen and Monica Moen.
