George Martin Charter

George Charter, of Palm Harbor, FL and formerly of Montevideo, died on January 22, 2006 in Palm Harbor at the age of 89.

Committal services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 at 4 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo with Rev. Roger Olness officiating.

George Martin Charter was born on April 11, 1916 in Montevideo, MN to Chester and Lucy (Westgate) Charter. He lived in Minneapolis, MN for a number of years before moving to Florida in 1981, where he worked as a college administrator at the Academy of Accounting.  He was a member of Faith Covenant Church in Palm Harbor, FL and belonged to The Dixieland Jazz Society.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; three daughters: Betty (Willy) Marban of Hustisford, WI, Lynn (Paul) Jacobs of Montevideo, MN, and Khaki Campbell of Clinton, IA; 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harry Charter and Lloyd Charter and a brother in infancy.
