George Graf, of Dawson, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 93. Mass of Christian Burial was on Wednesday, April 21, at 2:30 PM at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel. Father Ray Mwakera was the celebrant and burial was at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was at the nursing home starting at 2:00 PM. George Graf was born November 16, 1916 at Gransburg, MN the son of George and Katherine (Moser) Graf. He moved with his family around Minnesota before becoming a longtime resident of Dawson. George worked as a mechanic at Jack's Pontiac and later for Al Schacherer before retiring in the early 1980's. He is survived by a brother, Alfred Graf of St. Paul, MN and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers: Martin, Ewold, Greg, and Joe Graf; and three sisters: Susan Graf, Julia Pawlitschek, and Anna Blumhoefer. George's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Johnson Memorial Home for their kindness and to his good friend Rod Coon for his care and concern.
