George Lorincz

George Lorincz, of rural Clarkfield, MN died on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 64. Interment will be at St. Pauls Catholic Cemetery in Nicollet, MN. George Lorincz was born on June 2, 1948 in Cluj, Romania to Stefan and AnnaMarie Lorincz. He grew up in Romania, served as a border guard in the military and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He escaped from Romania in January of 1970. In June of 1970 he was united in marriage to AnnaMaria Balazs in Italy. They emigrated to the United States in 1971, settling in New Jersey. After a few years, they moved to Minnesota, living in St. Paul, Nicollet and St. Peter before he moved to the Clarkfield, MN area in 2009. He worked in the electrical field for a number of employers and operated his own business for a number of years. He loved animals, especially cats, and movies, especially old westerns. He liked to "win" and get a deal, was charismatic and easy to visit with and loved "Little Debbie" snacks. He is survived by a step-daughter, Hilda Trebisovsky of Hilltop, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Anna Maria in 2000.
