Gerald Paul Linde

July 14, 1936 — February 2, 2018

Gerald Linde died Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 81.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Gerald Paul Linde was born July 14, 1936 in Garfield Township to Clarence and Mamie (Engebretson) Linde. Gerry was baptized and confirmed at Garfield Church of rural Madison.

Gerry started out working on the farm with his parents.  After the sale of his parents farm, Gerry went on to work at Great Plains Lumber for around 20 years.  He then worked on DuWayne Swenson’s farm as a hired helping hand until his retirement.

When growing up Gerry enjoyed roller skating and horse back riding.  He also enjoyed going on day trips on his motorcycle.  Gerry claims he rode two million miles without a single accident.  He loved watching All-Star Wrestling and was always interested in good conversation.  Gerry started off each day with his “daily routine”.  He would start off the morning by visiting the fertilizer plant.  From there he would head to Co-Op Oil, followed by Erickson Chevrolet, and would finally end up at the downtown NAPA store.

Gerry is survived by his brother, Donald (Hilde) Linde; sister Dorothy Myers; nieces: Deann (Peter) Croatt, Debra (Jim) Gebur, and Romelle Boyd; and nephews: Denise (Linda) Linde, Douglas Myers, David (Belinda) Myers, David (Caroline) Linde, and Richard (Judy) Linde.

Preceding Gerry in death are his parents, Clarence and Mamie; brother, Clifton Linde; and brother in-law, Virgil Myers.

Blessed be Gerry's memory.
