Gerald Mitling, 90, of Watson, died January 30, 1997 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 1997 at 1:30 P.M. at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson. Rev. Robert Rendahl will officiate and interment will be at Green Leaf Cemetery in Superior, WI.
Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services.
Gerald Oliver Mitling was born April 4, 1906 in Tunsberg Township, Chippewa County, MN the son of Halvor and Anna (Lyngen) Mitling. He was baptized and confirmed at Watson Lutheran Church and he graduated from South High in Minneapolis, MN. Gerald served in the U.S. Army in France during World War II. He worked for Addison - Miller Consruction Company which was based in St. Paul doing railroad work. Gerald also worked for the same company in Spokane and Pasco, WA. He was married to Doris West until her death in 1967. He was united in marriage with Oline Lyngen September 1, 1973 at Watson, MN.
He is survived by his wife, Oline; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Doris; two sisters: Minda Midtlyng and Inga (Mrs. Emil) Lyngen; and eight brothers: Ingebright Midtlyng, Peter Mitling, Bennie Mitling, Henry Mitling, Herbert Mitling, Joseph Mitlyng, Floyd Mitling, and Lawrence Mitling.
