Gerda Sando, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 91.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Charlie Leonard officiating. Interment was at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Gerda Paulson Sando was born on July 24, 1914 to Paul and Olga (Larson) Paulson. She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church by Rev. C.T. Jenson. She worked for many years as a cook at the Mohawk Cafe and the Hotel Hunt before retiring in 1984. On April 5, 1984 she was united in marriage to Oscar Sando at Pine River, MN. They lived in Montevideo, where she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and its women’s groups. They wintered in Arizona for a number of years and she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and collecting antiques.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar; three sons: Llewellyn Angrimson of Brooklyn Park, MN, Larry Angrimson and his wife Helen of Cross Lake, MN and Grant Angrimson and his wife Lynda of Clear Lake, MN; one daughter, Reta Kellen of Randolph, NB; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a sister, Almira Riley of Pine River, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Thorphin Angrimson and Marvin Miller; two sons: Paul and Garry Angrimson; a brother, Orton Paulson; 2 sisters: Pearl Jorgenson and Ordell Gustafson; a daughter-in-law, Janice Angrimson; a sister-in-law, Freda Paulson and two brothers-in-law: Sibert Jorgenson and Vergil Gustafson.
