Gladys Maus

February 26, 1917 — October 16, 2015

Gladys Maus, of Montevideo, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Clara City Care Center in Clara City at the age of 98.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church.  Rev. Gwen Bohlke will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home and with a prayer service at 7:00.  Visitation will also be held at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.

Gladys Ruth (Sunderland) Maus was born on February 26, 1917 at home in Rosewood Township, Chippewa County to Junia and Laura (Kindelspire) Sunderland.  She was baptized and confirmed at Rosewood Methodist Church.  Gladys graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1935.  Gladys was united in marriage to Adolph Maus on October 6, 1937.  They lived on the farm for several years and eventually moved into Montevideo.  Gladys and Adolph had seven children: Douglas, Clarence, Marion, Bruce, Ruth Ann, Marsha and Cheryl.

Gladys was a full time wife and mother.  She was a Sunday school teacher, a  member of Ladies Aid at Rosewood Methodist and later at the United Methodist Church and was a member of the Couples Club at the United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, bowling and bingo.  Most of all she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and shared with them her wit and humor.

Gladys is survived by her children: Marion (Jon) Mitlyng of Montevideo, MN, Bruce Maus of Woodbury, MN, Ruth Ann (Ken) Cordingley of Aberdeen, SD, Marsha (Tim) Radermacher of Montevideo, MN and Cheryl Edling of Geneva, IL; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Bennie Maus of Lewisville, TX.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Junia and Laura; her husband Adolph in 1973, sons, Douglas and Clarence; brothers: Harry, Art, Robert, and Donald; sister Esther; grandchildren, Laura and Lance; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Maus, and  son-in law, Jack Edling,
