Gladys Petterson, 86, of Montevideo and formerly of Minneapolis died November 28, 1994 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 1994 at 10:00 A.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Rev. Kathryn Rothman will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be held Thursday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and at the church for one hour before services on Friday. There will be a prayer service Thursday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Gladys Jeanette Petterson was born November 10, 1908 in Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Ole and Bertha Marie (Larson) Nordby. She attended school and grew to adulthood there. Gladys was united in marriage with Jerome Petterson December 4, 1937 at Big Bend Lutheran Church. They made their home in Montevideo before moving to Minneapolis in 1942. She worked as a carpet sewer and also did house cleaning until she retired. Jerome died February 3, 1972. She moved back to Montevideo in 1987 and lived at Brookside Manor before moving to Luther Haven in February of 1993.
She is survived by two sons: Jerome and his wife Karen of Louisville, CO and LuWayne and his wife Sheila of Fridley, MN; three grandchildren: Todd, Tracy, and Trent; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jerome; three sisters: Mabel Molden, Hattie Barduson, and Dora Barduson; and three brothers: Harry Nordby, Orville Nordby, and Clarence Nordby.
