Glen Edward Seiler

Glen Seiler, of Clara City, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:30 P.M.

Glen Edward Seiler was born May 2, 1916 in Havelock Township, Chippewa County, MN to Robert and Lydia (Koethe) Seiler.  He was baptized at his parents home and confirmed at Rosewood Methodist Church.  Glen attended District 22 and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1933.  He was united in marriage to Violette Christenson on September 29, 1940 at Rosewood Methodist Church.  They farmed for many years in Rosewood and Havelock Townships before moving into Clara City in 1980.  Glen worked for VSC in Clara City for 10 years before retiring.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, music, and sports, especially the MN Twins.  He was an active church member of Rosewood Methodist for many years and later the United Methodist Church in Montevideo..

He is survived by his wife, Violette; five children: Gary Seiler and his wife Alice of Alexandria, MN, Joan Utecht and her husband Erich of St. Paul, MN, Ann Robertson and her husband Jerry of Montevideo, MN, Judy Van Horn and her husband Brian of Alexandria, MN, and Bradley Seiler of Clara City, MN; one son-in-law, Jim Harvey of Willmar, MN; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ken Seiler of Nevis, MN and Alton Seiler and his wife Peg of Plymouth, MN; and two sisters: Ione Olson of Mesa, AZ and June Luschen of Clara City, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one daughter, Vicki Harvey.
